Help for the basement floor....
can u guys help us... we are confused about what we do with our basement floor... weather we should put tile on the floor or marble on the floor... What are the advantages and disadvantages...
the second thing is that we are finding marble of Verona (golden brown) color marble for the basement, what color can be contrast with this for the border...

lefty47 HI -- First , if it is cold in your area or if there is dampness in your basement - then you should put " Dry Core "down first - then that is your base for your flooring . You did not say what kind of tiles -so if you go with the marble then maybe border that with a black granite or a black slate . You could also add a thin brass metal filler strip to divide the two. If you are have this work done by a pro - then they will also put down a membrain for the tile to set on. To answer your other question - I would think that there may be more care with the marble as apposed to the tile. With the Dry Core you could also have a enginered wood flooring - that would be a lot warmer .

floorguru Marble is porus so unless you have a maid you may want to use ceramic.

Custom Home Planning Center I don't see a necessity for gushing. Pictures do however provide a clearer understanding of the project and question we can help with.

lefty47 HI --- Ruby - It is a little hard to understand what it is all supposed to look like without pictures , so I would say to stay with natural colors ,-- try the chocolate brown - I think it will look rich and the color will always be in. BUT I still think a wood floor is better for you.
