If this is a hand-knotted wool carpet, then it will stand up to water as long as you exercise ordinary care. These carpets are hand washed after they are made, and when you take them to a professional for cleaning they are cleaned with lots of water. This is a very luxurious bathroom, so I would expect it would be used by adults who would towel themselves off before coming out of the shower. There's lots of room to do that, it seems.

Cynthia, any idea where this carpet can be found. I've wanted one in these colors for years and am building new home. Starting my search..this fits the bill!

fit4lifelu, where are you located? If you'd like a rug like this, let me know and I'll see if it's possible to source one for you. What size (range) do you need?
