Need help with color change in Den area
Making big change in color ..too many opinions but need the right one!
I recently purchased a beach house for rental income. It is beautiful but it was decorated in 2006 when built. The designer loved red obviously. I plan to keep that color in most of the areas she used it however I want to pick out a color for the TV/Fireplace area. (so hard to paint over red) This is not the typical beachy colors but it stays rented!I have consulted with 2 professionals and several online and get so many varying opinions on what color to use. The ceiling adds another issue being a stained wood. I have had suggested SW blonde, jersey cream Glidden toasty grey, Benj Moore grey blue and even Sw Indigo Batik. Some I feel would be too dark, some might clash with the ceiling. Should I leave it as is? The walls in question start at the corner of room w/fireplace and continue around &behind dining table leaving the kitchen area red. Having so many diverse suggestions makes it harder so hoping someone has had a dilemma like this and has successfully chosen a good color!

Best,

I tell my clients that it's essential to start with your location, architecture and permanent design elements and develop an overall color plan so you don't make piecemeal color decisions and wind up with a hodgepodge of ideas, instead of harmony. Many paint manufacturers have brochures with beach colors to inspire you.
When you're narrowing the list of candidates, don't rely on paint chips or strips. Here's a link to a post on my blog (SandyatSterlingPropertyServices) that explains why:
