Marble as backsplash tile
July 27, 2012 in Design Dilemma
I love the look of marble tile as a backsplash, but have been told that it could stain. Has anyone experienced staining on marble or tumbled marble backsplash. Is it easy to seal and does it work?

Hi carol1965, I came across this Ideabook that might have some useful tips to help you decide of marble will work for you:

Marble can stain as it is more porous than other surfaces but would not be afraid to use it as a backsplash... With proper care and maintenance, marble will add a timeless look to most spaces... Happy Renovating!!

Of you use marble, which is always a nice option, be sure to seal it with a good stone sealer. I use DuPont BulletProof or a product called SK40.
