Old Toy Box
So i still have my childhood Toybox that was made for me when i was little and really don't want to get rid of it. For now it is sitting in my wardrobe taking up space and I would rather re use it for something but seem to be stuck on ideas. If anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated! Thanks!

Emily Hurley HI Jazzyrams, Do you maybe have a photo of the toybox you could share to get some ideas going for you? I have a similar issue with my childhood rocker. Can't bear to give it away, but it just sits in my garage at this point.

Paradise Restored Landscaping & Exterior Design I too would love to see the size and shape of your toy box - perhaps you've found a solution/use since this post -

eztia If the box was painted before 1978, the paint might contain lead. Take the box to a professional and get the paint stripped.

Now that the box is a "blank slate," you might consider finishing it with Danish Oil if the wood is pretty, or repainting it.

I am using my old toy box for exercise clothing and gear.

jazzyrams Sorry for the late reply. I've kept the toy box in my wardrobe for now and am using it as a blanket box. I will eventually re paint it to make it fit in with the rest of my house

Carolina Photo To Go LLC Any chance you will have children. They might like to use it as it is; I loved seeing things that had been my mother's.

TanCalGal I always use trunks for coffee tables. I think the decoration adds to the adorableness & I'm not sure I'd paint or refinish it at all. I sometimes add wheels to the trunk's bottom. How about pink wheels? Trunk Coffee Table
