10 year olds bedroom
I want to do a new bedroom style for my daughter. Please let me know your thoughts. I was thinking about doing a white duvet cover and then accenting the bed with pillows from this material. I thought of doing curtains from the same or should I do white curtains? I thought different texture pillows would be nice. I want to do this light fixture from ikea. I was also thinking of a baby blue for the walls. What are you guys thoughts?
Thanks!
Christa

Tracey Sirrat I was looking at the light you chose and was wondering, what if you did the walls in a soft yellow? those lights cast such a pretty shadow on the walls at night and remind you of daisies, so I thought yellow would be really pretty. I love the fabric you chose and white curtains, like you mentioned, would be nice - then the bed colors would really pop and be the star of the room.

Stanton Designs-online design services Love that fabric. You don't want your design to be too matchy matchy, Love the idea for accent pillows but I would choose another fabric with a more subtle pattern with same colors for some window treatments. A nice stripe would be a good balance. I like the thought of light blue walls...that will match very nicely. I would add a could punches of a soft yellow for a couple more accent pillows.

houssaon I love both of those fabrics. How about pillows in one pattern, stripes on the curtains and then a duvet cover in the other? Or use the second pattern on a bench or chair.

Color, color and more color! Great fabric. Paint the walls and her bed.

mpoulsom love your ideas for wall color, light fixture, etc. with that fabric. Add some polka dots somewhere! :) Just found some really cute fabrics for another houzzer that had a similar palette...not sure if it's the same blue. but thought it was cute and different. Had a white background with blue silouettes of dandelions. Very cute and you can find polka dotted fabric everywhere pretty much I think.

kennedytarheel take a look at benj. moore HC147 Woodlawn Blue or AF 490 Tranquility for the walls...you can see them at benjaminmoore.com . combine textures and patterns choosing 1 color to use as THE accent...then use different shades of that in all the fabrics you choose. I would not use white for curtains...i'd use plantation shutters for a cleaner look. instead of a white duvet cover, i'd think about a very thin pin stripe on white field. good luck!

apennameandthata Why don't you let your daughter chose... and help you sew? 10 year olds can sew if they want and they are careful.

I started off at 10, and here I am modelling something I ran up just this morning. I still love pink!
