Choosing an exterior trim color for a barn red house - quick!
I am having a house I bought in Maine (I live in Maryland) painted. The body of the house is SW 7591 Red Barn or a very similar color. The house was built in 1925 and is an American Foursquare design. I will be adding 1X4 or 1X5 flat trim to all the windows. What color white should I use for the trim? Red and white sometimes looks flat and harsh to me but there is a plastic white solid fence (belonging to my neighbors) in the yard, so I am thinking I should probably use some shade of white. Please help! Oops, ignore the second photo - it was from a color visualizer I was using (we are not adding shutters - sorry!).

feeny White or off white is traditional and will always look good. But if you want something different, I think this gray trim on the red side of this barn-style house looks great.
