Weird roof line because of addition. Can it be fixed?
September 29, 2012 in Design Dilemma
We are considering making an offer on a house that has a strange addition on it. The added sq feet are really not necessary. We simply don't know what to do to fix the awkward appearance, or if it can be fixed. The realtor suggested turning it into a sun porch with a fireplace, but the roof lines really bother me. Any builders or architects out there that can offer suggestions? Or should we run for the hills? You can see the addition is on the back of the home and attaches to the gable roof running parallel to it over the garage, making a strange "M" roofline. The addition ties into the back of the house in the last photo.
