Granite and Cabinets...
Hi! I'm building a house and would love to pull off the two color cabinet kitchen. Espresso cabinets with a hint of white cabinets. All the pictures I've come across show more of a marble type counter top. My choices of granite are limited and I don't know if I can pull it off. I can't afford the marble.

Aggie Purvinska the second one.

poetress The second one would give your kitchen an air of sophistication and will help unify espresso and white cabinetry in a way that looks purposeful and effortless. Best wishes as you build your home!

Roots and Rafters I agree -- the brown granite would be much better with espresso cabinets than black and white granite.

mapeggy You do not want marble on counters. It marks easily and requires a lot of upkeep compared to granite. The brown is better than Grey/black for what you described. Also consider using an off white or yellow white rather than pure white cabinets to mix with espresso.

BeautifulRemodel.com Hi Angie,

I'd recommend the second one, the first one limits your color palette greatly and looks a tad dated to me :) Also, to keep the cost of your granite down, keep the edge profile simple. A large amount of the expense of stone fabrication is creating the edge profile, and the more elaborate it is, the more expensive it will be.

Toni Sabatino Hi Angie, I agree with the other comments that the second choice will be best. Here is a dark kitchen with creamy off white island and the same granite with brown and gold tones on both.

ct design studio Well from what you are describing, espresso and white with what is probably carrara marble, I'm guessing you are going for a more clean vintage look, or am I wrong? Because if you are I vote for #1. Now #2 will certainly work, it's just a different look. If you liked the carrara marble, check out super white granite, which would cost less and easier to care for than the marble.
Pic #1 is what I thought you were going for
Updated classic
