p s proefrock architecture The tall windows, brackets, and other detailing on this house looks like Italiantate style to me. It was contemporaneous with some of the other late 1800s styles, but is generally less colorful than some others.

tjmoon Well, I don't know how to spell it, but I believe this is sort of an Italianate style. Many houses in the US are also hybrids of multiple styles, so it could also be something else. I'm not an expert though. I love the tall vertical windows and the corbels around the eaves.

tjmoon Gosh, there are a lot of options. Here are some pictures of similar homes in my area. The last two are the John Deere home in Moline, Illinois, and the others are in Muscatine, Iowa.
I like the first one. It is a dark grey taupe on the bottom and gold on top. The windows are black and the trim butter yellow

houssaon Your house is the Italianate style! Don't turn it into a Victorian. See if you can locate pictures of the house from the past or other similar houses for inspiration.
Here are two images I found.

Arc & Angle Home Builders, LLC Italiante was a style popular during the civil war. You don't see many in the south. Here is one I built though.
