Corner fireplace
how to arrange a room with a corner fireplace

olldbobbi Well, since you didn't give us much information as to size and style of your room and fireplace, here are a few photos for inspiration: [houzz=Kinsman Signature Home] [houzz=Tree Section Residence] [houzz=Magnolia Residence - Seattle, WA « DAVID VANDERVORT ARCHITECTS]

Dytecture I personally like corner fireplaces since it allows room for a TV directly centered in the room and the seating can be arranged according depending on what your room is like and the circulation through the room.

Izbickas Thanks for the input. But let me clarify with a pic. It's a 50s modern and the fireplace is jammed in the corner at 90 degrees. There's not much room for furniture in front of it. I'm interested in interesting ways to deal with an odd space.

TJP Designs and Construction LLC Could start with a nice mantel and large mirror over the fireplace!

olldbobbi I am wondering why your furniture is turned away from the fireplace. Is it facing a tv? If you think it would fit, I would move the tv next to the fireplace or even above it. Then rearrange your furniture to face the fireplace and tv.

Izbickas What I've been wrestling with is furniture placement. The sofa shown faces toward another sitting area where there is a tv. The middle of the room acts as a corridor. This is a space which is open the full width of the house. I'd like to find some shots of similar odd spaces and how they were resolved. thanks.
