Subduing an ECHO...ECHo....ECho....Echo.....echo
We are renting a villa with 20 foot high cathedral ceilings in the living/diningroom area. Since we do not own the unit, we cannot do extreme renovating, but are trying to add accents to our overstuffed couch, area rugs and upholstered accent chairs to eliminate an echo and muffle noise from adjoining neighbor. There is a 12 foot wall at one end with a 6 foot sliding glass door and lots of walls for very big wall hangings. Would covering the backs of paintings with cork dampen noise through the wall? It is very slight sounds.

olldbobbi Unless you have a serious amount of paintings I doubt cork would make that big of a difference. What will make a difference is soft surfaces, like upholstered furniture, large thick area rugs, heavy curtains, throw pillows and throws, that kind of thing. Also consider hanging tapestries on your walls to muffle and absorb sound. [houzz=
