Cover flat cabinets
Our new home is in a West Indies neighborhood in a Miramar Beach FL resort. The interior looks more like a Miami Bar. We have great mahogany doors throughout...plan to stain the floors to match. The kitchen cabinets are maple laminate, the wet bar and TV cab. are oak laminate, the Master Bath floating cabinet is plain white. We have black granite with iridescent blue, green and silver flecks in the kitchen, and carrara in the Master. Also we would like to replace the art glass above the bar, and cover the silver panels under the bar. Please help! Fretwork? Stencil? Lasercut patterns? Shell veneer? The upstairs vanities were cover with a woven mesh and silver bamboo molding, but the molding is too thick so the doors won't open fully.
Thanks, Errin

Yikes! You've got a bit of work ahead of you.
I recommend you hire a professional to get you a master design scheme.
Make those tough decisions of "must have", "must keep" and "get rid of"
(eg: Keep floors and doors, get rid of all maple cabinetry, lighting, stained glass etc.)
I'm not saying that is what you should do, but you should know in your mind seeing it, what you want to keep and what you want to get rid of. Most importantly, what is in the budget to do all of this.
I like the high gloss white cabinetry in the bathroom - it feels clean, fresh - adding more layers of white on white, making it purposeful could be stunning. Add a quartz countertop or carrara marble - perfect...
You have a beautiful home, I want you to make the right decisions for you and on here, you are only going to get inundated with both professional and amateur opinions on what you should do, instead of what is right for you, your family, your budget, and your new home.
good Luck, wish I was in the area, I'd give you a hand...
If you are going to go darker with the floors and Cabinets, given the mahogany doors remember to balance the dark with a strong lighting program. The failure of most designs is inadequate or poorly coordination of lighting. I find my best consultants in this area are lighting designers for stage production. Checking at university theater arts departments can be a place to start.
