skswen TYPOS: any helpful advice on decorating this wall? May move this sofa as well. However would
Like tips on palette that may work with sofa. I love greens, blues, aquas, teals, golds. Wondering if can incorporate red sofa in with my love of green/blue/yellow/gray

lazarfamily Looks like there are gold dots on the sofa? Maybe paint the walls a rich warm gold tone. You can bring in some blues and teals with accent pillows, a throw, or and area rug.

lazarfamily Hard to tell without seeing large empty wall. Looks like sofa is crammed up too close to bookshelf, maybe move it out a bit?

Natalie Yes you could add colors---start with a fun and colorful rug and pull colors from it... Good Luck! [houzz=Big Garden Printed Rug][houzz=Mantadia Rug]

pcmom1 Rather than the rectangular mirror, do a collection of oval mirrors in various sizes. This would look great with the curves of your sofa.

Of course, painting the walls always gives big impact. Cafe au lait color? Can't say without more pictures. Red sofa with green, blue and gold: rug to incorporate as shown above.

You will need some color on the window side also. Change out curtains for some with your colors.

And, if possible, pull sofa farther away from shelving unit. Add a great floor lamp!

movethisnotthat find a rug you love first, then pick colors from it for the walls, couch should not be under that window/mirror, let it stand alone as a focal point. good luck

Elise I really like when people stripe walls vertically, emphasizing the height of the room with wide stripes of two colors, perhaps gold and cream or gold and green. Then throw down a gorgeous rug with all of those colors in it. Hang 3 large, equally framed pictures in black and gold frames with gold or black cord. A couple of large down pillows with a couple smaller pillows in the range of colors you like. You don't say how old the girls are, but get them involved in the scheme of things so it will be their room with your supervised color scheme.
