I think a linen color sofa would look pretty with your blue wall. Here is a lovely example of linen/blue. Notice the one wall is a dark linen color? something like that would be nice for the kitchen space.

To balance the warm tones of the wood cabinets and counter of the kitchen, a warm gray sofa with spice pillows would be ideal... A colorful chair would add a touch of whimsy. Subtle wood tones and a 2-3 colored rug. Good Luck! I love the color comination of navy, grey and white. While I don't suggest a white sofa, a grey sofa would be very pretty against the blue walls. Clear glass lamps with white shades, white pillows, and maybe even a white flokati rug!!!

Best suggestion - peer into the homes of others who have worked with these colors! Then once you find you are continually drawn to coordinating colors, styles, furnishings - you will know bottom line where to begin!

I agree with darzy on painting your kitchen a dark linen color. It will go better with your cabinets and countertops. The blue is too jarring to me in the kitchen - and makes your finishes look cheaper. Besides, blue does nothing to stimulate the appetite. :-)

Keep the blue on your main wall as an accent.

My kitchen is pretty warm, however, I'll get more pillows in warmer tones along with plants and coffee table/ ottoman. I want my place to look sophisticated and "urban like". Slowly but surely I'm getting there!;)

Choose high def photographhy with lighter colors such as one I have placed below. Just click on the links.

or

You can do one large on perhaps canvas or 2 or 3 of a similar theme. High definition photography is very uplifting. It allows your mind to visit a place you love or dream about in an instant. I awaken to St. Thomas every day and have a wonderful lighthouse with vibrant blue sky in my family room -Tybee Island which is near Savannah. Etsy is a great place to order from and the links I posted are from my photography shop. I can customize anything you choose if you want. The listings are for 8 in by 10 in printed on Kodak ENDURA metallic paper from a nationally recognized photo lab.

Have fun! and a Happy New Year!
