Beginning Thanksgiving Decor!
Just started thinking about how to swap out Halloween for Thanksgiving decor at home and came across this photo that I just love.

Dining Room

Anyone getting a jump on Thanksgiving decorations yet?

Transforming Rooms There's a great post at this blog

search Thanksgiving decorating - These two are an example of the photos.

There's also some great room makeovers, just type in "adding color" or "bedroom layout" or "window treatment ideas" - whatever you're curious to see!

pcmom1 I swapped out decor a day after Halloween. Brought out all warm, homespun items: draped an old quilt over a bench, needlepoint pillows in warm colors, filled a long basket with squashes, branches of berries, etc. and put on the dining table. Entry way holds a wire basket filled with dry moss and colorful fruit.

Went shopping around town for anything having to do with family, gratitude, etc. Found a small plaque "count blessings", a sign for the buffet " Together with family and friends is my favorite place to be!" and a pillow that says "Give Thanks".

Love to decorate around all holidays!

newyorkgirl Just but tons of pumpkins! Put bowls on your table, then swirl pumpkins around those bowls! Or you can put some pumpkins on your window. If you have a garden, start planting pumpkins or orange/ yellow flowers. Get really festive!

fnstf Pumpkins and gourds are great! I buy different colors, sizes and textures before halloween. Can be both organic and non-organic. Then after halloween, take down all the obvious halloween (spider webs, etc.) and harvest is the theme. Metal, cloth, glass, grocery- all work together to remind us of our bounty.
If you wanted to add a mum or two, you could..but not necessary. Fall leaves, preserved in glycerin, also make great harvert/fall/thanksgiving decorations.

pcmom1 For a different take on the horned cornucopia: buy very large glass cylinders and fill for different fruits, veggies, nuts.
