Open plan townhouse redesign
I have a new house and need to redefine this space. It is an open plan kitchen/diner/living room in a rectangle roughly 11m (37') x 5m (18').

I would like to keep the kitchen at the back and need to fit in a table with chairs and a living area with a sofa + armchairs with tv.

A major challenge is the blind corner next to the window at the front (behind it there is a small balcony aligned with the window). How can I improve it? where should I fit the furniture?

I would also appreciate decorating advice on colors. We are thinking of changing to a lighter wood floor as the room is quite dark.
We will change to window frames but the shape has to stay the same.

Thank you!

Dytecture What a great open concept space. The bones is quite neutral, perhaps this might be one direction to go with.

Do you access the balcony behind the wall in the photo on the right ? That would be a good spot for a reading nook while enjoying the greenery in the courtyard area.

manon13 Yes Dytecture, that's what it is.
thank you for being always out there!

I would like to keep everything quite neutral and contemporary.
One option is to install a sofa on the long wall next to the main picture, with one of these "chaise longues" incorporated towards the window side to enjoy the view.
The TV would be in front of the sofa with a couple of armchairs turned a bit sideways in front of it.

But the corner is really not nice. I wonder if I should put a mirror on the wall there....

Do you think light oak would be a better floor choice?
