Gas or electric? Anyone have advise on LP gas cooktops. I am limited to downdraft and do not know if the drop in btu (from NG to LP) is worth it.

Shawn Lagemann You may have some limitations, factory recommendations for independent down drafts, and code considerations. JennAir makes an integrated down draft in a cooktop, it does drop the BTU, I had one and hated it. Some of the idependant down draft manufacturers that have a higher pop up, will not warrant the units if placed with gas. Some areas have code issues for vents and gas, check your local codes. Have you thought about "induction" as an option. You can use it with higher pop up down drafts and do not have the "cooling" issue. They cook from magnetic type heat (can't find a better way to say that) instead of real heat. They have the same control that gas has, vs electric.
