Design Dilemma

My parents have just downsized. They are very traditional but this house has vaulted ceilings.

What can they do to add architectural detail to the wide open space to make it more homey?

Do you have photos of the vaulted ceilings? Faux beams could be added to add some warmth to the room.

Paint the ceilings and then hang a beautiful chandelier proportionate to the size of the room. L + W = size of fixture.
