Need help for small bedroom
Need ideas to transform this small (11 x 10) room into a chic 12 year old girls bedroom. The cabinet shown will not be included. Would like to keep existing wall color.

michigammemom You don't specify your daughter's taste preferences or the actual wall color, but here is a houzz article that might give you some inspiration.

Dytecture What style is this girl into? More mature or fun ?

creeser Most tweens I know have a favorite color they want to saturate the room in. Love the two photos above with the soothing whites and then the fun accents of hot pink in Dy's picture or the lavender (my personal favorite with green) in michigammemom's photo.

the essentials inside Great questions everyone. There are so many options, knowing a little more about your dd would help.

That being said, here is a cute idea that you could adapt to your current color scheme:

C Wright Design Hi! I know that you do not want to hear this but I would really consider painting the room a lighter color as the room will feel larger and happier! The picture that Dytecture attached above looks fresh, young and beautiful. Check in with your preteen and see what colors she likes. All colors mixed with crisp white look great!

Lori Heatherly I would do a raised bed since you have such a small space. It would be helpful space wise and it would be cool for a twelve year old!!

sharwilms I purchased this dresser and matching headboard today along with the lamps and bedding. I am concerned that it may be too dark, but it's more of her style. Would like to add color as seen in my inspiration photo.... Also added a white ladder bookcase. Do you think it would be ok to use the wall color in the photo for contrast..then a pop of color as they did with the orange or should I just go with the color in the pillow for the walls?

creeser I would definitely use a more 'fun' color for the walls. The elements you have are very neutral. How about a very pale turquoise for the walls? Or a lavender as in the room with the raised bed? Both would still be chic, but lovely for a 12 year old.

the essentials inside I agree w/Creeser & vote for a fun color! You might also try customizedwalls.com - they have very cool peel & stick wall murals. You can even make one from a photo of your own.

Here are some fun color ideas:

Look forward to hearing how it comes together!

Customized Walls Ours or not, I think a wallpaper pattern that has a touch of sage but also lots of bright fun colors that teens like on one wall as a focal point would be fantastic. This image is not on the our site yet but we could make you a wallpaper with your specific paint color tied in. Check out this design my own 11 yr old likes. Email me at laurie@customizedwalls.com if you need any help.

creeser Customized Walls, I love the pattern you posted with the bedding and furniture sharwilms picked out. That would be stunning on the wall behind the bed.
