jamidelynn Maybe more bedding? I would get a duvet set in a stripe or plaid fold down 1/3 at the top, white sheets, and fold the floral coverlet at the foot of the bed. A nice sized vertical mirror with feminine lines above the dresser. Bigger lamp, maybe just one large mercury glass lamp. A medium sized print above each bed...smaller than the mirror, but not too small. I would possibly do a white bed skirt and a rug between the two beds. Great potential!
greenthumb2 color. and maybe at some point a settee/bench at end of each bed for morning dressing.
I think a personal blanket throw or personal pillow and an accent pillow (accent pillow multiplying a constant color in the room) would be sweet. I do agree with jamie on the art. Perhaps frame a personal work (from each child) matted with same accent color mat. If they are not artists, have them trace each other's facial profile. Mat and frame color and white matt, black frame? Like jamie's bed skirt idea.
greenthumb2Frenchflair this room is over the top. Too much white, and maybe too lacy looking. I do like the little architectural element on the wall, and colorful dust ruffle. They are often expensive. If you sew, or have a friend who does, ask them to do a trade. They make dust ruffles, you make them dinner? I dunno. Sounds like a deal to me. :=)
michigammemom It's a nice room, but it lacks fun and whimsy. Search houzz "kids' bedrooms" for ideas on how to add the finishing touches that give personality to a room. I love the idea of these silhouettes hung over each bed.
decoenthusiaste Purple is one of 2013's new neutral colors, so take that shade from the quilts and paint the wall behind the headboards! Try a single more whimsical lamp and this fun ceiling fixture. Then add a rug between the beds.

I'll look for a couple of links for you.
This bedroom is closer to what I had in mind for you and the children.

love the more relaxed and warm feeling of the second one....plus it shows some of jamie's ideas too.
