Couch color??
We are looking at a tufted sofa, should we do navy or gray?

houssaon Either would look good with this beautiful rug! I would lean toward a grey sofa. Then you could do navy patterned chairs and pillows.

Do you have pictures of the sofas?

Xaloux I'd go with grey and I really like Houssaon's idea of adding the navy patterned chairs and pillows.

lefty47 HI --Navy is the new black they say but either would be good. If it is going to be leather then navy won't look as good after a while with fading and wear. So maybe the grey is the best.

Panagiota Kostakis Hi...I have similar colors and I have chosen a tufted sofa in velvet caramel. I am very pleased with my decision, this color works with many colors from your rug. Just by changing the throw pillows you can change the look! Hope this is helpful! :)

michigammemom You certainly have a lot of options with your versatile rug. Do a houzz search for "red oriental rug" to help you visualize your favorites. I personally love the rich but bold look of the navy sofa.

susan609 Blue sofa will be stunning but I would lighten up on the chairs and introduce warmth. If leather, perhaps caramel, and bring in patterns with pillows. But a striped or patterned fabric with a warm, light background would work well. If the chairs are to be leather, think of introducing pattern with benches or ottomans, also great for additional, flexible seating, or the popular big ottoman coffee table. I am in the process of redoing my living room with almost the same rug (not ready for its close-up yet), having gotten lots of ideas from Houzz!
