Help on fireplace mantle stained wood or white
December 2, 2012
I have white bookcases on either side of my fireplace that is going to have faux stone. Should my mantle be white also? This room opens up to the kitchen which has stained brown cabinets.

My opinion is follow the lead of your stone. If you are planning to keep your stone light then keep your mantel white, but if you're going with a very dark stone a white mantel probably won't look all that good.
