Color of glass on light fixture.
The fixture I am getting for our master bath light bar has "umber" glass. Does anyone know about "umber" and will it affect the look of the lighting in the room?

SH Interiors It will probably give you a warm glow which could be very nice especially in a powder room. But if you are looking for bright white light umber is probably not the best option.

Barnhart Gallery I suspect it will give you a tan without the UV damage. Perhaps not the truest light if you'll be doing your makeup in the mirror.

If you're set on the fixture, perhaps there's a different glass option? Come to think of it, my husband and I stayed up 'til midnight the night before our master fixtures were installed, gold leafing them as we loved the form but not the finish. In our hurry, we used some sort of spar varnish that aged and crackled the surface by morning -- thankfully our mistake looked great. I also disliked the glass shades and replaced them with bubble glass first chance I got. See what you can do!

marylynnpick Thanks, everyone, for your comments! I've already ordered the fixtures so I guess I'll just have to see how they do.
