Should pendants be centered to the island cabinets or the countertop that has a 13" overhang?

The cardboard is representing the countertop.

They are usually centred over the entire countertop.

I agree with Lehman. Center them over the entire area.

I would centre them over entire countertop, sometimes if the eating counter if it opens onto the family room and there is additional spotlights around perimeter neither of which I see in your plan. ( I hope the fridge is moving as You don't have enough room for seating at overhanging bar if it stays in present location)

Thanks everyone, I decided on the middle of the top also. Hahahah Arbutus Interiors- that's the old fridge just sitting in the middle of the floor. We're putting a stainless steel fridge and freezer on the left side of the kitchen. :)
