Our remodel needs decorating ideas
We removed 4 walls and opened up the kitchen to allow unobstructed window views. The house was very dark and the kitchen unusable. The drop down living room floor was raised. Laminate flooring runs throughout. We love the changes but are unsure about paint color and mill work. the counters are sage colored. Our cabinets do not pop the way we have it now and we think maybe curtains might help with sound. Just not sure what colors.

Dytecture Hi Marlaine, this is a great renovation and really like how the space is opened up. The space has some mountain / modern cottage feel. I think the color of the walls are fine since it is quite neutral, as for drapery, one option would be to hang it across the entire room especially in the great room area.

Dar great remodel. The kitchen alcove around the sink would look lovely in a stronger color such as medium brown, medium gray or spice. I would also get the next larger size rug for the living room.

Marlaine Shirley Thanks so much. These ideas confirm what I was thinking. Would love some more.

Darzy I think it would be nice to get a bigger, an a bit lighter area rug. Then, you can decide on curtains for the LR and kitchen. Nice renovation! Congratulations.

Marlaine Shirley Thanks for all the ideas. The carpet came from our small apartment and we know it needs to be larger. Sounds like we need to pick the carpet first and take colors from it for drapes and accent paint. I really like the idea of putting the drapes high. Yes the lights hanging down are in our new kitchen. We got our lighting from Globe. Some day we want to do something a little more artsy but these will work for now with the budget. We still have a gutted bathroom we are working on.

Paradise Restored Landscaping & Exterior Design Your kitchen is great and you can get started giving it 'Life!' Do you have any existing pieces you use daily? I am not a big small appliance person - but everyone has something they sit on the counter . . . Do you have vases, canisters, utensil pot, towels . . . ? Perhaps you can head to 'homegoods' or your go-to accessory store and check out their kitchenware area and begin a theme or pick up some eclectic pieces and begin to build a feel in your kitchen - cheer it up . . .saw yr teeny plant in one corner but this room could use some serious green! Yes, its nice to start with the living rug and build your window coverings but adding personality can begin immediately!
