Need help on picture placement
I would like to know at what height I should place a picture over a fireplace. We have 10 foot ceilings and don't want to just sit the picture on the mantle.

stacey9722 Are these the accessories you would like to keep on the mantel? If so...maybe have the bottom of the picture 6 to 8 inches off mantel so everything has some sort of connection. Good luck

All 4 Show, LLC The height of the ceiling shouldn't matter when determining the placement of the picture. How high from the floor is the mantle? Is it a raised hearth? Perhaps between 5-10 inches above the mantel the bottom should be?? Try placing painter's tape to the true dimensions of the picture (at the very least its horizontal measurements) and step back to view it's impact!! That way you won't be putting unnecessary holes in the wall!! Good luck..... :)

Carolyn Albert-Kincl Design I'd go four to five inches above mantel unless you place a box or similar item on mantel, such as box shown below. Then I'd go that same four or five inches above the box.

janishill Or if teh ceiling height concerns you purchase a picute that is taller than it is wide. Hang it anywhere from 4 to 10 inches above the mantle, based on the other objects you will have on the mantle.

lefty47 HI -- I think the picture might be the wrong one for your mantel . The picture needs a frame and if you frame it , it will be too big for sure . But if you are going to stick with this picture , because of the size I think you only need to hang it with only three inches of clearance above the mantel .
