Front Door
If I paint my front door red do I also paint it red on the interior side?

victorianbungalowranch No you don't have to. I think doors are normally painted on the sides the same color as the front.

creeser No, not at all. When we had painted doors, they were always different colors on each side. I usually painted the inside the color of my trim.

Linda we usually paint doors so that when the door is open and you approach the doorway, you will see the same color as the door, So, the hinge side of a front door would be painted the exterior door color and the knob side would be painted the interior color. I would probably paint the inside of the door the same as the trim color of the room or leave stained if the woodwork is unpainted.

Interiors International, Inc. The hinged edge would be painted the same as the out side. The knob edge would match the inside color.
