Need help picking a new couch
Last piece of furniture to replace is this couch. My husband picked it out when we first moved in and I've always hated it. I just recently got a new ottoman and new pillows that I would like my new sofa to tie in with. We have a small town home so I was thinking something smaller then this enormous sectional. I also want to replace the mirror with art or a more decorative interesting mirror. I like contemporary with nods to traditional. Also don't mind my daughters toys and dogs in the pic :)

michigammemom Love the accessories you have picked out and your hide rug. Take a look at the Blake Down sofa from West Elm.

Andrea Prasch Thank you this is actually exactly what I was thinking. Any thoughts on color?

judyg I always get annoyed when the question isn't answered and some one throws in a suggestion which wasn't asked for , but gonna :>). Would love to your great rug layered over a sisal.

Here's a thought on mirror replacement and a sofa that reminded me of the color of your bench. Think these are some colors you could work with, although the room is more casual than your tufted bench will require.

Andrea Prasch No problem @judyg I actually love other suggestions keep them coming! We have a sisal rug in our kitchen and I also love the layered look but my space is pretty small so I try to keep things to a minimum especially with two dogs and a 1 year old ;)

mmilos I see a classic tight-back English arm sofa working well in that room. Something like this:

mmilos Thanks, Andrea. Hmmm...gray would work. Beige or creme too. You have good style.

myxanadu would like to hear back in a while on how that couch is working for you. I want to get rid of ours (high arms like your new one) since you can't lay/slouch on it, but an ottoman would help - I LOVE your ottoman, pillows are pretty too.

Andrea Prasch So far I love it. I love it because although the arms are high it is very deep. The ottoman defiantly is nice to put your feet up. The ottoman is restoration hardware that I actually found on Craigslist for half retail price :)

orangecamera I'm late to this discussion, just wanted to say I think you've made a great choice with your new sofa. Also with the pop of color from the blanket over the arm. The whole room looks more inviting.

Metro Interiors i really like the couch, ottoman, and rug. but im not sure about the black mirror. something smaller might be better to balance out the room and give it some detail

l00k Love your room.Where did you get your ottoman and rug from? What is your wall color?
You are a very good decorator.I wish I knew this website before I bought my leather white modular!I hate it.I would love to have your opinion when I post my next project.

Andrea Prasch @I00k Thank you! I am a bargain hunter with high end taste. My ottoman is restoration hardware I found on craigslist. My cow hyde rug is from Urban home and my wall color is Benjamin Moore "revere pewter." I also hated my leather module and have longed for this couch from zgallerie for a long time then one night I found it on craigslist from a home staging company! I'd love to give you advice on your next project!
