Decorating tips for wall
This is a wall in the dining room and was wondering how to layout/arrange artwork or photos given the light switch is in the middle of the wall

TanCalGal It seems the builder thought you were going to have drape panels on each side of window. I'd add the drape panels and move the nice plant that is in the corner under the light switch.

decoenthusiaste Drapery panels, even stationary ones, will do more for this wall than art.

Mario Ruiz thanks, i think this will add more elegance to the room as well. would you suggest keeping the blinds? how far over the edge of the window do you recommend? i'm looking at west elm. if you have other suggestions, let me know.

Carolyn Albert-Kincl Design The panels need to cover the trim and extend perhaps 1/2" into the window. We don't want to cover more or the window than necessary. The panels should hang from a rod mounted just below the ceiling. I suggest you paint the outlet covers and switch plates the color of the wall.

Mario Ruiz thanks, carolyn. what do you think about some striped panels? or should i keep them solid? the tablecloth on the table is temporary and i will replace with a runner. the table is dark ebony.

Carolyn Albert-Kincl Design Buying solid draperies will allow you more design freedom in the future. I like the West Elm panels that are referenced above.
