Black or Stainless in Kitchen
Hi Guys,

Would you replace the black appliances with stainless steel? I'm thinking having a black stove, microwave and refrigerator is too much. Thx!

Dedra Fabre Also - I am considering painting the walls a light gray to match the backsplash. Do you agree?

decoenthusiaste I think black looks pretty cool if you totally go for it. I think black below the chair rail and gray above would look good. My issue is with the brown tones in the floor and the lighting.

Jayme Hobbs I think the stainless would look great/and gray for wall is a good choice.

Margaret Phillips I'd love to see the stainless and gray walls. I want to see the before and after.

Interiors International, Inc. The new Slate color gives you the richness of the black but it is lighter and not so stark.

A Kitchen That Works LLC Go stainless and grey on the walls.

lpmenache Stainless, it is timeless. Another option is all stainless and then a colored range in red for pop.

Dedra Fabre I will definitely post the before and after. I am closing in January and decided to focus on the kitchen, living room, master bedroom and master bath since I will spend most of my time there (wooh - so overwhelming). My notes so far is to change the lighting. I love the recommendation that was given. My gut is telling to go stainless and the gray walls (I have to look at the slate color that was recommended). I welcome all feedback. This site rocks! Should I do the same color gray (still don't know what shade to do) above and below the chair rail moulding or do the same color?

LM Designers I like the black appliances. I would like to see a soft gray with blue under tones on the walls.

MAlps Dont think the black appliances add anything since the kitchen isn't modern and the appliamces aren't either! I would definitely 100% go stainless and add some red! They also sell on the market a completely red oven, and not just the red knobs!
