Need help turning a king headboard and footboard into daybed
I was able to score a gorgeous rococo king size headboard and footboard. Problem is, my bedroom an only fit a twin size bed. I'm trying to turn it into a daybed, but I'm having issues finding the parts. In the middle of the headboard and footboard, there are two slots for supporting rails that prevent me from using regular metal rails along their width. I want to avoid altering them so that when I move into a bigger place, I can turn the bed back into a king. Help?

decoenthusiaste Put it in storage until you can use it as a king.

patriciarhall put the headboard on the wall and buy a twin bed frame to put in front of it, allowing the headboard to run long ways on the bed frame. Add a nice box spring and mattress, and you will enjoy the headboard in the small space. Store the footboard under the bed til you move.

Shelley Verret Ditto to Patriciahall, but I would use footboard by cutting it in half and using each piece on the ends. Like arm rests. Should turn out beautiful.

Darzy ditto patridiahall. I've done that with a king head board with a small bed. Just do the bed lenghtwise on the headboard on a typical metal bedframe. Maybe you can use the footboard as wall art behind a dresser?
