Annie Nozawa Hi there! I love modern as well. What are you thinking of doing with your home to update it? Repainting?

TJP Designs and Construction LLC New siding in the gables, decorative gable vents, and fresh colors on trim and front door would make a world of difference - on a lower end budget!

claudiann Paint gable trim and gable same color. Put cultured stone on the front wall that sticks out. Or paint that wall, gables, trim all same color. Put a metal awning over the front window. Paint it to look like copper.

jillover Is my house a ranch or a tudor?

claudiann No expert but a would think a Tudor. It looks like something in England . I have a ranch and wish I had something like yours. Yours is charming. Ranches were designed to look like original ranches out west I have read. To me ranches have very little personality. But then I have an artistic soul and I don't care for modern. That's what makes the world go around. Wouldn't it be boring if everyone liked the same? I do wonder...is yours the only house in your neighborhood with this architecture?

smergal1 This is a Tudor style. You need to go classic.

Paradise Restored Landscaping & Exterior Design I like the exterior of your home - it is not a ranch - here in Portland, there are many a ranch style - totally unlike yours . . .

kathleen MK I love Tudor like your house. You could go really traditional like the Magpie houses in Shrewsbury England and use bright white with black trim. I like the pop of purple on the door but a darker redder hue might be more traditional.( The color that looks eggplant on my shutters is too purple on our door that looks like yours.) I saw lots of bright red or green doors on very traditional English houses as well as the usual wood tones and jet black. Add some purple leafed plants to play off the door color. If the paint is in good repair I'd not waste money on changing it. a sample quart of paint could change the door if you want a change.

jillover All white with black trim. Sounds good. I dont like door color. What about the brick ? I would like to paint it.

feeny I wouldn't paint the brick. It is very traditional for Tudor houses to be partial brick. But I prefer a lower contrast between the stucco and the wood trim.
