Need help with a kitchen paint color.
We recently remodeled our kitchen with light maple cabinets and New Venetian Gold granite countertops. Our kitchen flows directly into the family room. We want to keep the area as light and bright as possible, while staying on the neutral side since it is occupying two small spaces. Any suggestions on a paint color which would compliment the cabinets but remain neutral enough to flow into the family room?

kathleen MK Really depends on your family room furnishing /color scheme. I love the light warm colors of the cabinets and counter tops but finding the right neutral to go with them can be harder than it looks. Get some sample paints to try on big pieces of cardboard. you can move them around to check how the colors works with the light and the other pieces. what looks great with cabinets could clash with the sofa. You might find a light shade of a contrasting color in the sofa or family room which would add alittle color to your warm neutral scheme.A buttercream yellow or a soft sage green can almost work as a neutral backdrop while adding more color. A cooler color( blue grays) could bring out the warmth of the woodwork.

lisameier14 Our sofa is beige (already neutral) and I had been contemplating a buttercream color. I think that would look great in both rooms while keeping it bright. Thanks for the suggestion.
