Redoing kitchen without replacing countertops
I am trying to redo my kitchen. I am trying to figure out what color to paint the walls and do the backsplash to help tie in the countertop with the rug.

TanCalGal What color is the counter top? What colors R in the rug?

lillybear206 light blue counter top. The rug colors are dark brown, light brown, maroon, gray and a blue gray.

All 4 Show, LLC What about going with a light smokey grey backsplash (like the pic I added below) and then add some decor with some other colors, and shapes from the rug, to tie it all together? Good luck...

nmikolich I like the idea of a medium grey wall color! I also think it would be nice to tie in the darker colors by adding hardware to the cabinets - maybe with dark brown or grey handles / pulls.

TanCalGal Depending on how the counter was installed, sometimes the 4" counter area on wall cannot be removed and the back splash tile has to be placed above the 4".

The kitchen counter seems an unusual light blue with gray. If you can almost match this color in a tile, a back splash like this might be nice. photo: Divine Kitchens LLC

A neutral back splash would also be nice with a thin trim of a blue-gray tile (matching counters). photo. Case Design/Remodeling, Inc.

You could have the kitchen with no back splash and buy a pretty plate that has the colors of the rug to tie the rug to the kitchen. Mill Valley Arts & Crafts
