Need help in guest room
Have used many ideas from my fellow Houzzian's. I think I need table lamps that are more organic and dark heavier wooden side tables. All ideas/critiques welcome !

Sunday I love it, I think a dark end table would stand out from the color of the wall but I am not a designer. Did you use a headboard. I love this look and I want to do this for my guest room. The coverlet is just what I want. Where did you get yours?

Tyler Roberts I agree with you for the lamp I think its metalic tones ring out in sucha warm colored room

I am not so sure on the endtable I think that you will go dark on your lamp though so I think the wood color you chose already is perfect :) great job

kingslane I don't remember where I got the coverlet. This has been a loooong work in progress. :-)

kingslane As for the lamps, the need to be wood or some kind of ceramic..i really don't know what to do with the windows..months ago someone said get rid of the sheers but I don't know what to replace them with.

kingslane I think I do need a headboard.

Aja Mazin Change the lamps.

The tables are fine!

wmpj A dark wood headboard would look nice. Are there blinds behind the curtains? If not, you may want to either replace the curtains with something less sheer or add blinds or a roman shade. I think your guests may appreciate more privacy. The turquoise lamps Aja Mazin suggested would look great in the room.

Aja Mazin or something neutral.

decoenthusiaste Would you consider painting the tables - they tend to blend in to the wall color?

patriciarhall painting your night stands black and adding the turquoise (or green color from your painting over the bed) lamps would add a bit of drama to a very pretty room!

susanmitch I vote for a headboard too. Something like dark iron would look good against your wall. Then look at side table.

Aja Mazin I would opt for new, more dramatic bedding before I bought a head board.

Aja Mazin I like the nightstands and would not paint them black.

I think bolder bedding will make them more visible.

alwaysdesigning I like the chunkier lamp ideas; find chunky lamps and spray paint the color you want it. Matching the color of the nightstand to the color of the lamp will make it seem like an important feature; good luck

cyn222 I would make the side table dark brown to pull color from the rug. Look for non-shiny lamp. Nice room.

Aja Mazin WAIT!

I apparently do not know my right from my left!

Be right back!

judishines I would leave the endtable alone. Looks just fine. Let it melt into the wall and use a simple ceramic lamp the same shape as the vase in the painting above the bed. Love the curved, aqua ceramic lamp posted above. With the new lamp making a statement and your great painting, I wouldn't worry about a headboard.
