Soffitt color?
Painter tells me soffit should be white. I think it should be the same color as wall
to not stand out. Any thoughts? Thx!! Ps molding white. Walls Benjamin moore fristed toffee. Cabs dark wood backsplash white with hand painted fruit /veggies. Mahogany floor. Surf green granite counters. Thank you thank you!!

feeny I'd go with the same color as the wall. Makes them disappear more. Is your painter saying that painting them white like the ceiling will make them look like part of the ceiling? I'm doubtful, but let's see what others say.

designbaron I have the EXACT same type of soffits. I painted the walls once color (Renovation Hardware Latte) and the soffits are the color of my trim (Sherwin Williams Summer White). It looks fantastic. Painting them the same as the walls can sometimes make the room look top-heavy. In this case, trust your painter. Good luck!

decoenthusiaste Paint is an easy fix if you don't like it. Just be sure you have the formula for the paint on the walls so you can match it if you aren't happy with the white.

Diana Bier Interiors, LLC Paint the soffit the same as the walls--it's a vertical surface so consider it an extension of the wall. If you go white you bring the ceiling down because of the contrast between the white and the wall color.
