Need help with media room storage
I have a long, narrow media room. We are looking for ideas for storage for DVDs and board games. We thought about a bench all the way across but worried it might sit too low because of the window. I also thought about 2 cabinets or bookshelves on either side of the window. Any suggestions?

decoenthusiaste Here are two different media rooms and one bedroom with storage. Your window is not too low for a bench but I would do complete built-ins with doors, shelves, window seat and lighting - you won't regret it. It will be easy to keep the clutter out of site and it will increase the value of your home.

Chandani Another idea... depending on how much storage you need, is a storage ottoman or a chaise that open up

Aja Mazin here is a suggestion:
at $239 each, buy 2!

olldbobbi I would do a storage ottoman under the window, and two cabinets with doors on either side. A storage ottoman could act as a ready made bench.

blindsdirectcanada I would really recommend removing the Drapery and putting up a Cellular Shade. It would really open up the room a lot and make it more functional for a Media type room . The Cellular Shade will also give you the light control you need when having a tv in the room.
