Need help with family room
We recently raised the ceiling in out family room. I would like to add stacked stone to the fireplace front and lower and extend the hearth. I would also like any suggestions as an alternative to the stone. Paint? I am not sure of a window treatment for the one window. It is slightly bowed and has a lovely view of the driveway. I am considering a sofa, oversized chair with ottoman and a leather recliner. I already have a pine armoire, buffet and small chest. I am considering dark laminate flooring with a dhurrie style area rug. The room is appr. 16 x 17. Would This be too much furniture? The room is used mostly for my dogs and myself

1. East wall
2. South wall, the upper part used to be an exterior wall
3. West wall
4. North wall.

decoenthusiaste I think I'd replace the oversized chair and ottoman with a nice swivel armchair and small footstool. Once the furniture is in place post again. Consider fabric romans mounted inside each of the windows at the bow. If you need to soften it later you can hang stationery panels outside of the bow on a decorative rod. I like stacked stone. Where do you plan for TV - above FP or to right or left. Is the armoire for TV?

ssmith6806 I am considering placing the armoire with the TV on the east wall to the left of the doorway. Sofa would be perpendicular to FP.
