ManLand LandMan I'd say get rid of the popcorn ceiling first! Getting rid of the popcorn ceiling will be an investment and of greater value for resale! Popcorn ceilings are atrocious I feel your pain.

Darzy I would do recessed canned lights in the kitchen ceiling. Yes, if you can lose the popcorn ceiling, you'll feel better too!
