Need help for central wall
Hi
Need help for this central wall in our new home. It is the first thing you see when you come in the front door. It is currently very boring and non-impressive.

We initially though of a fireplace but off to the side of the living room rather than being central to the furniture, and a fireplace is too expensive. New ideas include wallpaper with glass shelves and a built in cupboard and wine rack beneath.

Please help for a cost effective but stunning idea!

Main Line Kitchen Design It is a funny space and since it is I'm sure load bearing, too expensive to eliminate for most homeowners budgets. I would close it in in one of two ways: build a wall floor to ceiling with closet doors or just close ii the top with a soffit and have floor to 96" built in cabinetry. Top doors could be glass for display. First option will cost a fraction of the second. Closing it in will make the space look at least like it belongs more instead of an unresolved architectural mistake. Then hunt down the original architect that designed this and throw a pie in his face.
