chelseabeagle You need some shrubs against the house and trees. The only thing I can think of is to cut holes in the deck and plant some trees in strategic locations - then add patio furniture. Perhaps build an outdoor fireplace as well.

sarapaul04 also, have you considered an arbor? i could see and arbor with white lighting and ivy over your back patio. I think what this space needs is to close it off a little. The space is almost too open. Needs to feel a bit more intimate. Add cozy furniture and you got a nice space!

AMN I think you need at least two of these or similar set-ups along the perimeter in strategic places to provide a more cozy, defined look.

What kind of patio furniture do you want to put out there? Are you going to use it as a patio?
