Ideas for Art
This is my beautiful Ralph Lauren Chest that was given to us as a wedding present. I need help with suggestions on what I should put above it. I have a mirror above the couch in the same room which I also put up a picture of. I was thinking like a text canvas print?

Aja Mazin You did a good job of hiding that lovely piece in a corner!!

Any place you can relocate it?

LM Designers You could still put a rectangle mirror above it. A black and white nature picture would also look nice.

Andrea Prasch No unfortunately we are very limited on space in our town home and it's the only place it fits but its really not hidden its next to the tv and fireplace and one of the first things you see when you walk in the door which is right behind where i'm standing.

Interiors International, Inc. Art is so subjective. You need to find something you love. I see this question on here all the time. I can't believe that people don't trust their taste. Art needs to speak to you. When you look at an original painting and you do not feel an emotion it isn't right. When you find that one that moves you it will be in your life forever. Good art does not match your sofa. That is for furniture showrooms and model homes.

chris_wolff I have the same mirror behind a chest in my office. It helps bounce light back into the room. In your situation the mirror might help amplify the pretty items on the chest. Then you could do something large or even a grouping behind your couch. this link had some neat ideas. You seem to like tone on tone and love the white animal head. Maybe a trio of large format botanicals or seashells in white on cream or gold washed background?

michigammemom Well said Interiors International! I am also a huge fan of original art and good quality prints vs mass produced pieces purchased from a retail chain. Beautiful art can be found to suit virtually any budget.

chris_wolff these gold leaf birds pop up on OneKingsLane.com from time to time. I saw a series of four of these in a showhouse and they look lovely yet neutral on a soothing wall color similar to yours.

Aja Mazin Your furniture is very nice!

A text canvas print might be nice, but first I would declutter the top of the chest.

I would remove everything but the lamp and 2 pictures.

Perhaps a picture like this.

Andrea Prasch While I have all of you here I was also thinking of doing a chandelier in this room. Thoughts?

Kelly Oh goodness yes...you would just have to make sure the height works since your TV seems to be higher...I think something bronze, crystal and large would be awesome in there personally..think I have a picture..one sec..

Darzy Hi Andrea, How about a few sets of these wall flowers? Place them artfully flowing above the chest with your creative design skills? I think these will look great with the lamp and your moose head and pop againt the wall.

V.I.P. Kitchens, LLC. i think the first one.. bc it doesn't have as much bling but yet it would still make a statement... also copy a photo into paint Andrea and then play around with each photo to see which one would look best.. just rmemeber the length and how low it would all play a part =)

Aja Mazin Drum shade chandelier would be crowding your small space.
Perhaps a small pendant.

decoenthusiaste If you don't find anything on your trip, check out a local university art department - professors and students will usually do custom pieces for you.
