Need help designing a small awkwardly shaped 1bedroom apartment
The floorplan is attached. The main challenges are these two pillars (one in the bedroom and one in the living area) that break up the space, making it hard for me to figure out. how to lay things out Where would my queen size bed go? Which wall could I mount my tv on? Where would my couch and TV go? This stuff usually comes to me pretty easy but I'm draeing blanks this time.
Background - I'm a 30something single male business owner and I don't spend a ton of time at home. I want the space to be cool and cozy and intersting. I may entertain 2 or 3 guests from time to time. I also need a little space for a desk/workarea. Nothing major...
I'm on a tight budget and have a bed. I have to get any/everything else.
Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Manon Floreat Something like below may work for you. The work area is in the alcove on the low left corner. There may even be room for a small dining table behind the sofa. There are consoles on the market that extend into dining tables, if you'd like to keep the floor space open. maybe this will help.

coolbreeze450 Manon, your layout is super helpful! What's the piece in the upper left corner of each room?

Gabberts Design Studio Great floorplan Manon! It's exactly what I would have suggested. The piece in the upper left corner is a small chair
