Dark bedroom and bath painted ugly yellow

Bedroom/ bath with little natural light. White tiled floor. Dark mission style furniture. Unattractive shade of yellow walls used to try to brighten, white curtains, sliding glass door to outside covered porch. Attached Master bath to also be painted - no natural light
Need advice on wall color, bedcover and curtains, and accents. Walls have that bubble texture on walls. Mothers room so have to keep fixes simple.

Cynthia Taylor-Luce I recommend getting her some pretty bedding and then pulling colours from that. I've pictured a pretty set below, and using it as an example, I'd paint the walls Benjamin Moore LAPLAND AF-410 which is a nice greyed green. The room isn't bright, so I'd try to work with the amount of light and make it look cosy. Be sure to have good lighting in here, though. Then in the bathroom, if it is all bright and white (floor, fixtures, etc.) then you could get away with CROWNSVILLE GRAY HC-106. Yes, it's fairly dark, but it will only make the white look fresher. White towels will look clean and spa-like against it. Again, give her maximum light. If there's only a fixture over the sink, then add a couple of recessed potlights, for example over the tub/shower area. Without pictures and measurements of the bathroom, I can't give better guidance.

When you shop for bedding, try to find something that has several colours in it, and pick your favourite for the wall colour. A variation of this tone could be the bathroom colour. Feel free to come back to this discussion to ask more questions if we can help you.

Natalie Hi---some ideas for you. I think the quilt bedding and a muted periwinkle or soft aqua wall color would look great in this space and will coordinate well with your wood tones and tile color. A rug with subtle pattern/color/texture is needed to soften the hard/cold tile. Simple white tailored panels for windows and matching Tiffany style lamps for side tables. Bath-amethyst shower curtain, dove gray or same wall color as bedroom, soft white fluffy towels. Brushed nickel finishes. Paint colors: all Ben Moore--- 822 Riviera Azure, 829 Sunrise, and 836 Sea View...
