Need help with my kitchen backsplash

jpkoontsJanuary 10, 2013
Unsure whether to choose a complimenting or contrasting accent tile. Cabinets are antique white. Granite is typhoon Boudreaux . Backsplash tile is Rialto Beige

My vote is for the darker accent tile. The color pulls out the darker areas in your beautiful granite. The lighter tile has a slightly pink hue to it (at least on my monitor).

Hi jpkoonts!
I think the darker accent tile is the way to go. It pulls from the darker color variations in your counters, and creates more contrast.

I love Typhoon Bordeaux. Wonderful selection. I too would go with the darker tone as the other looks pinkish.

I vote contrasting. Like Stoneshop said, it ties the wall into the more burgundy parts of the Typhoon Bordeaux.

Contrasting is my vote also, Typhoon Bordeaux is beautiful and the copper deco will really set off the Maroon color in the stone. I recently finished a project with this material and used Bershire cream honed marble subway tile and added copper/bronze decos above the stove. It was a great compliment to the countertops and balanced the colors nicely.

I believe the contrasting tile works better with your space. It pulls out the dark colors in your Granite as well as your oil rubbed bronze hardware. Good luck with your project.
