Need help with Ranch facelift
I can't really afford major construction, but would love suggestions for a new front door, color schemes, garage door and/or shutters. Also I hate the columns! What other shapes/options do I have.

annaliseh it's hard to tell but the front door & shutters are dark green and the garage is brick red. Ideally I'd like a front door that lets in light.

mmilos Nice house! No major construction needed in my opinion.

I would remove the classical columns for some chunky plainer square tapered columns.

Hard to see the current colors on doors and shutters. But a very dark green would look rich with the brick.

I would also get some plans drawn up by a landscape designer to freshen some of the landscaping.

Get a new front door that eliminates the dated arch window for a half light squared off mullioned window. It would go better with you classic house. Something like this:

mmilos I saw you posted you have green shutters. I like your current paint scheme. I think you could go with a darker, more glossy finish green on the shutters.

But if you want a change, go black on the shutters and more of a white color versus cream for the siding. I would then paint the garage door white.

houssaon I would take the larger bushes in front of the porch area out to open it up. I'd paint the frame around the door window to the color of the door. Other than those two things, I think your home looks great!
