decoenthusiaste I think a sage green would be nice for the house and cream for the trim, black for the accent color, as in door and windows. If you'd want to make a big change, replace the bow window roofing with copper and add a copper awning over the front door. Could also be done with raised seam metal roofing. You could add faux shutters to the two palladian windows above in the black accent. Be sure they look like they could close over the window. To minimize the garage door, you could paint it a darker sage from the same color strip as the body of the house. I"d be for removing the clumpy hedges, unless they are bloomers like azalea. You need some updated plantings suitable to your area. Keep it open and airy, not something that will become clumpy.

broszko I think that your home is beautiful. We all get the itch to change things. I would find out what exact style your home is and if you decide to spend money on major remodeling, then I would stick to that era. This is of course my opinion.

Tres McKinney Design Paint the garage door the same color as the house or black (like the roofs of the bays). The architecture of the house is quite appealing but there is no protection from inclement weather at the front door. Decoentusiaste's custom arched copper awning might be a good option. It could also be done in dark zinc to match the planters on the porch..
