What can I do to my brick fireplace to up date the room.
I am going to paint the walls a lighter color,change the mantel and possible whitewash the brick,any ideas?

Dytecture I would try painting the mantel and wood surround before whitewashing the bricks.

cyn222 I would do the surround first and then see how it looks before doing bricks. Easy fix if you don't like it.
