Need help with laundry room layout
We are working on remodeling a home we recently purchased, and I can't seem to decide the best layout for the laundry room. We have actually already removed these cabinets, and I'm debating how many to put in and in what format. It is a smaller laundry room than I'm used to and I want to make the best use of the space. Some of my considerations:

The door to the garage is to the left in the first photo. One idea we have is to create a gap between the cabinets and the door, with a basket for the kids shoes and maybe some hooks.

I don't feel that we need all this cabinet space.

I do want to maximize counter space - for folding, but also because we seem to have a lot of clothing that needs to dry flat.

I'm wondering if I should add a hanging bar of some sort.

Thanks for any suggestions!

TanCalGal I like a lot of cabinets, so I would not have taken them out. I like a bar to hang some items from washer. If kids use the space, yes, they should have hooks and places 4 shoes. There is no easy shortcut 4 planning out a laundry. You have to decide what is right for U & your family and plan out the space.

Interiors International, Inc. This is a look I liked as soon as I saw it. For an open laundry I think it looks great.
